With one day left of EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival, I wanted to give a recap of my favorite foods at EPCOT’s most amazing festival!
Cheese Bread – Brazil
My go-to snack at Food and Wine was the cheese bread in Brazil. I LOVE this bread and will miss it so much. The bread was not too flaky, not too gooey, it was just right! The bread was like a pocket for the cheese. Anything with cheese is automatically my favorite type of food. I could eat these for the rest of my life!
Spicy Tostada – Mexico
The one word I have for the spicy tostada in Mexico is FRESH! This beautiful tostada was amazing. It felt like I was eating a fancy nacho with the tenderest meat and just the right amount of heat. Don’t be fooled by the word spicy, it’s an amazing dish to try no matter what spice tolerance you are at.
Ropa Vieja Empanada – Islands of the Caribbean
Empanadas are my middle name. Well, actually, it’s Lenore, but you get the point. I LOVE empanadas and if you didn’t know that, you should read my “23 facts about me” blog here. Empanadas are a dish I grew up around. My Madrina would cook millions of them (maybe a 100 or less, but there was always a tray of them) and she would bring them to my house. When I was about 7 or 8, my Aunt, Grandmother and I learned how to make them from scratch and ever since that day, I love empanadas because of the family it brought together and happy memories. The culture behind each empanada is something I value. It so much more than a food, it’s a memory to me. The empanada from EPCOT brought me back to that moment. It was flaky, warm, fresh, and the perfect spice to it. I love seeing how different cultures create their empanadas. This recipe was different from the one I’m used to, but it was an amazing experience!
Piggy Wings – Flavors of Fire
I am not the biggest fan of tanginess on my wings but with the Piggy Wings from Flavors of Fire, these are my number one favorite wings at EPCOT. They serve 2 “fall off the bone” wings that are super tender and crispy around the edges. The sauce can get messy, but don’t all wings? Not a single piece of meat is left on the bone or plate when I’m done. These wings are the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. If you love meat in wing form, you’ll love these!
Carrot Cake – Hops and Barley
My favorite dessert of the whole festival – carrot cake! This carrot cake was super moist and soft. It was so sweet – a great treat to satisfy a sweet tooth! This is a treat I will always look forward to in the American Pavilion area! The picture accurately shows how much amazing sweet icing they give you! The icing is the best part, of course!
I hope you guys enjoyed this fun blog of my favorite foods and treats at EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival! I am already missing it and can’t wait to go next year and find new snacks and treats.
