Graduation Life Hacks for a College Graduate

Happy May Everyone! It’s about that time of year where everyone is starting to complete their degrees and walk across the stage. Even though I graduated in December of 2018, I’ve experimented with several of my go-to life hacks for this monumental occasion!

Hang Everything On A Hanger

There is something so satisfying seeing your graduation regalia, gown and cap on a hanger days leading up to your special day! This also can help get rid of the folding creases in your gown.

Secure the cap with bobby pins

If you’re like me, my cap gets sliding off of my head! I had to actually take bobby pins and pin the cap to my hair. This turned out to be one of my best life hacks for graduation! I loved the ability to not worry about the cap falling off.

Waterproof Makeup & Setting Spray

You know you will be crying that day (maybe just me), but I wore waterproof mascara. Once I got up from my chair and started walking towards the stage, I started CRYING – too many tears of happiness and accomplishment! You are might and made sure to put setting spray on to lock everything into place.

Decorating your cap

If your school allows you to decorate your cap (which most schools do), go on Pinterest and search ideas for decorating your cap. Find ways to incorporate your degree or career path into your cap!

You can decorate your cap to be anything you want it to be. I decided to decorate my graduation cap with “Do as dreamers do” from Disney’s Wishes Firework Show. That was what motivated me through college. This is your chance to be creative and celebrate your accomplishments!

Shoe Choice

I’ve always been a wedges or strappy heels type of girl for graduation! These seem to be the easiest way to dress up any look and feel comfortable when you’re walking the stage. I suggest a thicker heel to make you feel more comfortable and sturdy while your walking. You may be a little nervous when it comes to your turn to walk, so the best option is for a thicker heel if you choose to wear them.

Dress with School Pride!

When I graduated, I wanted to pick out a dress that matched the school colors. My school colors were white, red, and black. I wore a red dress, had my black cap and gown and wore my red stoles. This was perfect to represent my Spartan Pride!

Wear something that also makes you feel confident! This is your special day and it took a lot of hard work to get to where you are now.

Congratulations to all the 2019 graduates! I hope this blog inspired you to use a few life hacks for your special day!

Until the next blog,
