I have always wanted to style a pair of “paper bag” shorts, but I always felt as though they didn’t fit me right, or I was self conscious of my weight. I decided that enough was enough and I purchased my first pair of paper bag shorts from Charlotte Russe before they closed.

What makes these shorts a “paper bag”? If you notice these style shorts do not have a zipper or buckle. They scrunch up at the waist and tie in the front. This is a recent trend that I am hoping on the bandwagon for! They are super comfortable, light and breathable! The level of comfort for these shorts is fantastic!

It’s always hot in Florida, so having shorts that are light weight, light colors, and comfortable make it easier for handling the heat.

Originally I was very hesitant on purchasing on light pink shorts. I’ve always loved light pink, but I felt like it would show all my curves in the wrong places since I cannot hind a thing in these shorts! I decided to buy them with this kimono cover up in mind! The first thing I could think of when I had pieced together this outfit was mint ice cream with sprinkles! My cover up is from Ross by the brand Live 4 Truth.

I wore a basic white t-shirt from Forever 21 Plus to balance out the pink of the outfit. This shirt was at the perfect “cropped” length to wear with these shorts. I wanted the staple piece would be the shorts, so I made sure to pair it with something basic since this was the first time I had ever branched out into wearing this style.

Of course I had to accessorize this look with my favorite straw bag at the moment from Forever 21! Click here to read my 3 summer must have hand bags!
This was a super big jump out of my comfort zone! I hope this blog inspired you to take a risk in your wardrobe and try something new!
Until the next blog,
