On April 15th, 2017, I posted my very first blog talking about the adventures I wanted to take with my website and my plans for content. When posting that blog, I didn’t know what I was doing or where all of this could even go. Questions always go through my mind…What if I never posted that blog? Where would I be right now if I wasn’t a blogger and influencer? Over 450 blogs later, it’s unbelievable that I can say I have been blogging and influencing for 6 years.
I remember writing down in my Vera Bradley notebook what my goals would be one day in high school. Having a blog was one of them. I never knew how I could start a blog, but it was something I would find out later in college how to start. I took a Management class, failed it, but as a project we had to start a blog. This is when that website was born! It wasn’t until April 15th, that I decided to make it an official blog and share my outfits I’d wear during the week and where I got them from.
When I first launched my blog, the only thing I knew was I wanted to share my fashion and share my story, but I wasn’t ready to open up fully yet. I knew what I had gone through could help others, but I didn’t share until my second year of blogging, becoming more comfortable and open.
Now that I have been blogging for 6 years, this year was all about OPPORTUNITIES. The opportunity to share, to grow, to INSPIRE. I have wanted nothing more than to inspire and impact peoples lives. I remember the first time someone messaged me that they bought a swimsuit because they saw me in one. THAT is the energy and the reason why I continue to do what I do. To help inspire those around me, even though I can’t see their faces, I know they are there and this space truly feels like a community. Having the opportunity to impact not only one life, but 50,000 is mind blowing and will always leave me forever grateful that this blog has left me on the path to helping inspire plus size women all over the world.
The Cheyenne sitting in her bedroom crying because no one wanted to talk to her all day because she didn’t fit in would NEVER believe the Cheyenne now. She’d never believe that 50,000 people would support her and take inspiration from.
This year unlike ever before, have I received several messages, sweet comments and just out pouring love and support or that I’ve impacted their life in some way or another, bringing happiness, positive energy or fashion advice. This is the exact reason I started this blog, to share, inspire and show people that plus size is BEAUTIFUL.
This is your reminder to start the things you’ve always wanted to start because you never know what path it will lead you on. I never thought that on 4/15/17, this blog and platform would be where it is today. There are plenty more years where this came from, but I am antipcate this year being the best one yet.
Thank you for always supporting my crazy ideas and learning about my journey to confidence. Whether you’ve been here since day 1 or day 2,190, you’ve changed my life and I am forever grateful for you.
