The Big Apple | Where Fashion Takes A Bite

New York, New York!!! *In Frank Sinatra’s Voice*

When going to New York City it’s hard not to reference it as the big apple. There are tons of Christmas ornaments in New York City gift shops with apples and the city painted on them – drawing the different icons of the city like Rockefeller Center and Times Square. This year I went for the FASHION! I wanted to do things differently than I have done in the past. I wanted to be on theme, (which is pretty on brand for me).

This year I have been entirely into what I call “tiny tops”. These “tiny tops” and crop tops, tube tops, tanks, and maybe some bralettes, but majority they are SMALL. The Cheyenne years ago wouldn’t touch a top like that, but the 2024 Chey is 100% down for the tiny tops.

I ordered a TON of tiny tops from Torrid when they had their semi annual sale back in May/June and was living for all the tube tops. FINALLY, a trend that is coming back that I loved wearing growing up! I ordered this bright neon green top and said I have NO clue when to wear that or even how to style it.

In true Cheyenne fashion, I pack until the last minute (down to the hours until I board my flight) for New York. I remembered that I have the lime green top and said “APPLE”! I found my red denim skirt (which was 1 size too small) in the closet tucked beheind bulky sweaters and shirts that I forgot existed. I packed the outfit and knew exactly where I would take the photos!

At the rooftop porch of The Marriott Marquis in Times Square, there is a perfect view of Times Square, the big screens, bright lights and people in the street. I loved seeing the view from up there! It is always an inspiring view and will always be my favorite place to take photos in NYC. It’s also one of the only places where you won’t have a crowd in the back of your photos (this is always a win for me!)

This entire outfit is giving Granny Smith and Delicious Red apple and no one can tell me any different! The outfit was very bold and super fun to wear. I loved being at the top of the busiest city in the world, the city that never sleeps! This look is something that I will probably not repeat again, but it’s a look that was perfect for the moment and the background!

Maybe I could wear this at Christmas time? Who knows! It will stay in my closet until the next NYC trip! Did you love this look? Make sure to see the reel to this fit here!

I am so excited to get back into blogging! Chey-O-Ween is starting October 1st! My first post for fall will be out that day! I will be posting throughout the October my outfits from NYC and fall outfits gearing up for my favorite time of year!

See you soon!
