How I Style T-Shirts -Styling My Least Favorite Item & How I Make It Fun

T-Shirts. My one article of clothing I have refused to wear for a majority of my life. I had everything against them from even when I was a little girl. I would refuse to wear them and only wear dresses. Sometimes, I find that to be true in my normal everyday wear still to this day. BUT I had seen a few t-shirts that I kind of fell in love with and I wanted to share them with you!

Several things captured me eye when I found this pink sunshine t-shirt at Forever 21. One, I love pink and I thought this was the perfect pastel pink shade! Two, I love sunshine – I live in The Sunshine State and I loved the font. The last thing that sold me was the “retro vibes” I got from this t-shirt!

The first reaction to this shirt was actually captured on my YouTube channel, so if you want to see my Forever 21 Dressing Room Try On Video, click here! My dislike for t-shirts was almost a reason why I didn’t purchase this shirt, but I ignored it and jumped out of my comfort zone by styling it how I would like to wear it! I tied a cute knot in the front to give a cropped look. I loved being able to style it how I like it.

Now let’s talk bottoms! I wanted to wear this skirt from Charlotte Russe to add a little retro vibe! I love wearing denim skirts, so I am still on the hunt for another one! This one is by the brand Refuge. This skirt is perfect if you want to style a cropped top – it goes perfect with everything!

I accessorized the outfit with my favorite pink retro sun glasses and my straw bag from Forever 21. Click here to read my go-to purses for the summer! I also added a cupcake for extra sweetness!

Paper Bag Style

If you didn’t see my last blog, I talked all about my favorite shorts of the current moment – paper bag shorts! This is a trend that I embraced and jumped out of my comfort zone for!

I found this shirt at Forever 21 that says “sweet like honey” and fell in love with it! I styled the traditional way by tucking in the t-shirt. I loved the style and look of the whole outfit! The pink writing, pink shorts and a bright yellow shirt just screams fun in the sun!

This was a look that totally gave me a confidence boost! I wore two things that I have always been hesitant to wearing and I embraced the style and rocked it. This look was a chance for me to really have fun with it. Embracing the colors was so much fun.

I accessorized the look with my favorite sunnies again, my go-to rattan circle crossbody, and nude strapy heels! I loved accessorizing this look because it was bright and fun! It’s something I have never tried before and wouldn’t mind wearing again!

I hope you enjoyed this blog! I wanted to share with you how I styled a clothing item I completely hated! What’s a clothing item that you just cannot stand?

The style verdict: I am still not sold 100% on wearing t-shirts, but I loved these ones from Forever 21!

Please let me know if you liked this blog and if you want me to try out more clothing items that I am hesitant to try! It’s super fun and I might have an idea of what I want to try next…

Until the next blog,

Cheyenne Lenore
